I'm the luckiest person I know, and the luckiest person everyone else knows.
But Lolly's luck begins to turn.
When her dad loses his job and the family home, Lolly thinks things can't get any worse.
Then she overhears her parents arguing and learns a secret that will change her life for ever...When Andersen Press offered this to me, I was really excited to read it. I've read tons of positive reviews about this book - in fact, I haven't seen a negative one!
I like the simple concept of how the book is basically about Lolly's luck changing practically over night. Even though some of the things that she goes through are seemingly 'unlucky' I believe that most of the time you make your own luck, and everything happens for a reason.
When Lolly heard the 'secret that would change her life for ever' (not saying what the secret is, you'll have to read the book yourself) I felt so, so, so sorry for her. To be honest, it was a bit like something dramatic that would happen in Eastenders! Lolly went through a lot and Mariella, the school bully, didn't help either.
There are twists and turns, ups and downs in this book! It's like a roller coaster ride. I really enjoyed it!
Is it just me, though, or does the cover look very similar to one of the newly-designed Cathy Cassidy books? Still love it though!
I think this book is for girls aged 8+ but I'm 13 and I really enjoyed it too. :) 5/5! This would make a perfect Christmas present.
